I never trust Goldman. Do you remember oil $200? They are trying to manipulate the market. They want their short positions to do well. I bet you a lot on this. Goldman is one company that needs to be prosecuted. They should go out of business
This is probably preaching to the choir but you need to check out Bill Hicks' album "Salvation". He does a bit on the riots and Reginald Denny that kills me every time.
Geez, O-, do NOT pick Corzine or some other Golden Schmucks alum, please, for Treasury Secretary.
Take on that den of thieves and clean it up.
I recommend that you lead the pitchfork brigade down Wall Street (with allied criminal Tim G. tied, blindfolded, and gagged, prepared for tar and feathering).
O-, wise up: stop the bailouts, slash government, force a Debt Jubilee for household debt, and man up soup kitchens.
With that, the unwind will last one, two years. Just like the post WWI great unwind.
Otherwise, it will be just like under FDR, a protracted clusterf***.
Whatever the merits of the New Deal may or may not have been for the US as a society, it doesn't appear to have been a successful short-term remedy for the economic problems of the 1930s.
The accounts of the Depression that I have read suggest that by the late 1930s the New Deal as economic medicine was largely considered a failure and even FDR was backing away from it. I've seen arguments that its real utility was as a tool for suppressing revolution.
But it also makes me suspicious of people today calling for another New Deal when realistically we already have a New Deal economy and we're already running massive deficits. Add to that the lack of evidence that the New Deal fixed the economy in the 1930s, and that makes me think that these proposals are merely attempts to justify power merely for self-serving reasons.
We have not been served well by our government. It would be immensely foolish not to be extremely skeptical of any attempts to extend its power.
If they were really looking out for our interests people would be going to jail left and right and heads would be rolling on Wall Street.
Pissed Off In California,
It's not the math that is a problem. It's people that prefer to extrapolate from present circumstances with minimal uncertainty
A true model would would have much greater uncertainty, and thus some find it preferable to use disposable models that serve their purpose at the time
C&C: no, but give him another quarter. That phrase and "perfect storm" I am so sick of hearing, since there seems to be a perfect storm or a hundred year flood every six months.
For what it is worth (2 cents?) I first got cautious on the market when John Chamber's said back in August 2007 conference call that business conditions across the globe were the best he had ever seen. For me, it was like a bell going off (as in contrarian indicator).

A true model that has uncertainty in it wouldn't allow 30:1 leverage. Why do you think Wall Street always wants to create mathematical models that "covers" all bases?
Throw the models away going forward and just accept that shit happens, you can't plan for it and the only way to handle 100 year events is to use LESS leverage.
PIOC,
I understand the conflict of interest. I just don't like math being a scapegoat.
As for payroll predictions, I'll drop mine at -239,000 seasonally adjusted. Goldman must be betting that holiday retail was laying off in Oct for a 60%-90% jump in the month-to-month decrease
Credit card companies were shut out of the market for bonds backed by customer payments in October for the first time in more than 15 years, as investors shunned the debt amid the global credit freeze.
At least that will make doing the workouts of CC debt hell of a lot easier, now that the debt is fully on the banks' books...
"PIOC,
I understand the conflict of interest. I just don't like math being a scapegoat."
I actually wasn't trying to scapegoat math. I'm simply agreeing with Roubini, Taleb and others that 40 years of Wall Street infatuation with models has shown us time and time again that there is NO way to model for human behaviour and black swan events.
There's a reason why conservative under-writing, conservative leverage, decent bank tier 1 ratios, holding assets on a banks balance sheets etc.. has worked for 200 years.
Why would anyone bother after all this time?

Apparently he mistook last night's electoral landslide result for a mandate, when really what it was is a stunning rebuke to the chimp's failed policies. It's more of a "we hate the last guy" than "we love you".
Obama will have to do much better than this to truly lead. Hopefully he picks Volcker as the Treasury Secretary instead of that Wall St. pigman gangster Jamie Dimon that he is reportedly considering.
Fear of jail and confiscating wealth is the lever that will move the banks in January. Anyone who goes on trial now for financial malfeasance would create a huge political storm in the Bush admin being incriminated. The other aspect is if you get convicted before January then you would have a pardon waiting for you.(Really looking forward to Bush's pardon list)
The state AGs and Justice Department will start prosecuting next spring. An added lift for the O admin when things really start sinking. The circus is going to get good.

If Obama runs the country even half as well as his campaign, we'll be in great shape by 2010.
Whether you agree with him or not, his campaign was as close to flawless as any in recent memory.
McCain did the best he could with the Republican edifice collapsing around him. Too bad we didn't get him in 2000...we'd be in a much different place right now.
I'm willing to give Obama a chance though I am not sanguine about his ability to keep in check the various constituency groups that got him where he is.
The idea that we substitute our national credit card to take the place of our exhausted invidual credit cards seems a foolhardy economic policy but, like I said, we shall see if he can come up with anything more credible than another $600 check or some make work/payoff constituency group 'infrastructure' scheme.

Tampa Tribune...There were 959 lots delivered to the Tampa market during the third quarter, compared with 3,411 lots during the third quarter of 2007. That brings the total vacant lot inventory to 31,451 units. It would take 72.9 months to sell all those lots, an increase of 31.5 months compared with last year, experts say.

His vague plans listed on his website don't show any desire to cut defense spending, besides a claim to have a more open contracting system.

Increasing our end strength will help units retrain and re-equip properly between deployments and decrease the strain on military families."

Swaps spreads narrowed sharply today as the reality of Treasury supply and convexity needs of servicers push spreads tighter. Two year sector spreads are tighter by 4 1/2 basis points at 106 1/4 . Five year spreads are tighter by 6 1/2 at 100 basis points. Ten year spreads have narrowed 9 1/4 basis points to 40 1/2 / Thirty year spreads tightened 10 basis points and are NEGATIVE 1 3/4.
Mortgages lagged swaps by about 2/32. There are stories and rumors that a chunk of the buying that moved spreads and the market yesterday was money managers who had received cash from the Treasury putting it to work on behalf of the GSEs. Remember them?

My long nightmare might be over. All relatives have received and sent back all of the paperwork. Tommorrow the brokerage should be able to transfer all shares from the trust. I have no clue how long transfering stock from one account at a brokerage to another account at the brokerage is supposed to take.
My expectation is immediately. If not, 24 hours? So I should be on to sell Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, or worst case scenario Monday morning.
Those evil thoughts in my head are saying, "Don't count your chickens before they hatch again... one of your relatives probably forgot to send his driver's license information to the brokerage". Instead of raising taxes on the last people with disposable income why doesn't Obama tax foundations and endowments?
Why in the hell is the Carnegie and Ford Foundations still operating? How many billion dollars does Stanford and Harvard need. There's wheelbarrow

Exactly. The administration is trying to backward rig the solution. If only we can keep home prices stable and/or rising the economy will be okay. Or so they say.

One tool that I use for stock market timing confirmation is the CRB Stock Market Momentum indicator. It is useful in trying to detect sustained short and intermediate trends in the U.S. market.
It has been published continuously by CRB since 1991. You can download all the data and charts, along with an explanation.
There are two data sets, the 10-day calculation and the 25-day. Both are expressed in percentages, with 100% being the most bullish and 0% being the most bearish.
Today, for the first time ever, both data sets went below 4%.
The lowest previously close was in August of 2002 when both were below 6%.
I am interpreting this data as saying that we are 18-24 months away from a bottom in the U.S. stock market. However, it may be very choppy and volatile from here to the bottom. Short-term range trading may be most profitable.
I would welcome any range-trading ideas you have.
P.S. The same site has terrific downloadable data and charts on all CRB commodities indexes.

To me, it's about how much volume this move can generate. It's a simple-minded and transparent approach to a disagreement to combine a person's viewpoint with several outrageous assumed extensions of it in order to discredit the actual belief that was stated.

Not anymore - So Cal def con was hammered in the late 80s & early 90s by GB the Elder what was left of it relocated to 'red states' like Texas, MS, Carolinas, Tide Water...
Cal now sends more to DC in taxes than it gets back in defense $$$... not so with many 'red states'. That very well could change though...

I can totally see you in this contraption. But where are you going to find the two guys that have to run along beside you all the time??
Let me illustrate how unusual this market action has been. In a single month's worth of trading, the broad U.S. stock market moved down over 30% (in 7 days), up 24% (in 3 days!), down 20% (in 10 days), and then up 20% (in 7 days). These kinds of moves usually define bull and bear markets. Throw in 2x leveraged ETFs and the money sloshing back and forth makes one's eyes glaze over after a few weeks. I found last Monday extremely relieving because the range was about 1.5% intraday instead of 7-15%.

Why all the negativity with guns? They are just another tool, either in the hands of someone who can use it or not.
Many people here might agree that a sense, if not practice, of self reliance in many areas can be the best form of insurance in the world. If you can fix basic parts of the car, you can save money, know if you are being cheated, help a friend, etc. Why should it be any different when it comes to protection of the home?
The first neighbor (A) got into with the guy who had a knife (B)[(A) didn't know (B) had a knife]. Their arguement got heated and (B) pulled out the knife on (A). (A) ran for his life like a girl. (It was almost comical). (B) was walking up and down the street yelling like a madman threatening to kill anyone that messed with him- including passing motorists. A neighbor kid (C)just happened to cross paths with (B). (B) hid his knife so (C) could not see it. (B) called (C) over to him and then pulled the knife on him. He put it to his neck and said that he was "going to cut his jugular" and that he would "bleed to death in less then a minute."
That's when I got involved (all the other neighbors were too busy closing their garage doors and locking their doors). Like i said earlier I had some re-bar and I used it to defend myself and the kid (I will not go into details on that part).
Hello everyone. I was told about the imposter posting under my name so I checked it out. Don't give up your day job whoever you are.
Yes, I went down with the McCain ship. Not into socialism, marxism, wealth redistribution or black liberation theology. It's a weakness of mine, I guess.
My one pithy observation is to look at the electoral map next to the housing bubble/recession map. You will learn that the people who elected Obama are mostly the same ones who bought 20 houses in Florida or California and are now crying for a bailout.
If Sen. McCain had had the cajones to oppose the bailout back in September he would have won this election. Certainly the other clown knew it was a political stinkbomb and got as far away from it as he could.
Get yourselves a good tax planner. Over and out . . .
We live in DC. We see administrations come and we see them go. The government goes on. The sun comes up in the morning. In our racially mixed middle class neighborhood most of us grow azaleas and tomatoes, not grudges.

Real Men are prepared. I went 52 years of my life without wanting or needing a gun, until I started reading here and other places about just how screwed up the PTB have got things. I live in a good neighborhood, but it takes very few days of disruption for the lesser elements to start wandering.

I just hope the rest of the world still is comfortable with HDP UUCP instead of the bastardized Taylor version you find floating 'round the 'net these days.
Stink'n Linux newbies have ruined the 'net. They'll learn what it really means to admin when were back to running the 'net over wireless microwave that's co-opted by the military every 20 minutes!

This is not happening.

These 100 year floods and 6 deviation events EVERY friggin 10 years are getting tiresome.
Why don't they create economic models that take them into account?
Oh I forgot, YOU CAN'T CREATE A MATHEMATICAL ECONOMIC MODEL THAT TAKES INTO ACCOUNT HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
9/08 total 137,318,000
9/08 private 114,776,000
10/08 loss 250,000-300,000 0.22-0.26%
Anyone care to step up and tell us that supply side economics is not a complete failure?

A true model that has uncertainty in it wouldn't allow 30:1 leverage. Why do you think Wall Street always wants to create mathematical models that "covers" all bases?
Throw the models away going forward and just accept that shit happens, you can't plan for it and the only way to handle 100 year events is to use LESS leverage.

From Bloomie:
Credit card companies were shut out of the market for bonds backed by customer payments in October for the first time in more than 15 years, as investors shunned the debt amid the global credit freeze.
At least that will make doing the workouts of CC debt hell of a lot easier, now that the debt is fully on the banks' books...

"PIOC,

I actually wasn't trying to scapegoat math. I'm simply agreeing with Roubini, Taleb and others that 40 years of Wall Street infatuation with models has shown us time and time again that there is NO way to model for human behaviour and black swan events.
There's a reason why conservative under-writing, conservative leverage, decent bank tier 1 ratios, holding assets on a banks balance sheets etc.. has worked for 200 years.
hello, is it still msnbc vs fox news in here?
Why would anyone bother after all this time?

Fear of jail and confiscating wealth is the lever that will move the banks in January. Anyone who goes on trial now for financial malfeasance would create a huge political storm in the Bush admin being incriminated. The other aspect is if you get convicted before January then you would have a pardon waiting for you.(Really looking forward to Bush's pardon list)

Has anyone ever heard Obama talk about Israel's crimes against the palestinians?
From what I've heard he is another die-hard supporter of israel and that is enough for me to never support him.
His claims of being anti-war don't seem to be supported by plans to kick the war-profiteers down a notch or two.
I hope I'm wrong and haven't watched enough of his speeches because I think he is incredibly boring to listen to.
Y'know, if the market really - and I mean REALLY - does a nose dive, then I need to also worry about counterparty risk on the Proshare funds since everybody will be wiped out.

Such a foolish little man you are john.

I love America. We've been raised to think that everything's about us, good or bad. So if jobs are hard to get, something's wrong with us. Call it our Inner Puritan.
Coming bad employment figures will give unemployed Americans official permission, rightly or wrongly, to say It's Not My Fault After All. They'll strangle their Inner Puritans and support Obama wholeheartedly. For as long as they continue believe him.
He's got a hard road ahead, and may fail. But the worse things get up front, the more political capital he'll have to start with. If he's actually up to doing something 1)big and 2) constructive.
Perhaps why FL wanted change:
Tampa Tribune...There were 959 lots delivered to the Tampa market during the third quarter, compared with 3,411 lots during the third quarter of 2007. That brings the total vacant lot inventory to 31,451 units. It would take 72.9 months to sell all those lots, an increase of 31.5 months compared with last year, experts say.
6 years of lots in one market!
"Nearly one in three Florida mortgage borrowers owed more on their loans than their homes were worth in the third quarter. Fully 1.2 million of Floridas 4.2 million mortgages - 29.2 percent - were upside down, said First American CoreLogic.
That's a lot of dissatisfied people.

I think we are starting the next wave of this affair. Too bad the Fed is out of bullets. It should be educational for Ben, however, so I guess there is some good from it.
This merits repeating:
Government can only borrow money or print it. It cannot create real wealth. No matter how large the stimulus or make-work projects, a depression cannot be avoided.
We suck.
We're going down hard.
Keep your chin up, Anthony Robbins followers.

There is amazingly little discussion of america's war machine here, considering how large a part of our economy it is.
Does anyone have any good insights about future defense spending with an obama administration?
His vague plans listed on his website don't show any desire to cut defense spending, besides a claim to have a more open contracting system.
He even says "Expand to Meet Military Needs on the Ground: Barack Obama and Joe Biden support plans to increase the size of the Army by 65,000 soldiers and the Marines by 27,000 troops. Increasing our end strength will help units retrain and re-equip properly between deployments and decrease the strain on military families."
There is very real economic impact from these policies.

We're going down hard."

That could be the bottom with a PE of 5-8 to one. When? I dunno, what do you think, that I know what I'm talking about.
But when the price of one ounce of gold can buy the DJIA, that's the bottom. You can look it up. It's been true for over 100 years.
From Across the curve:
I'm way past Anthony and have moved into "The Secret" as my new personal philosophy.

If you like Larry Niven's "Lucifer's Hammer" then get a copy of his short story "Inconstant Moon". Now there is a atle of how to spend the last night on earth!
Obama's plan is to withdraw all troops from Iraq within 16 months of inauguration. That would reduce the defense budget significantly.
Did anyone see the Housing Wire story on the next terrible home price fix idea? Basically a 5 year lotto ticket on a "hope" for hom eprice appreciation. 3 years payment free brought to you by the taxpayers:
"Upon receipt of a notice of default on an owner-occupied primary residence, a homeowner could apply to participate in a program under which the government would fully subsidize three years mortgage payments in exchange for a note, to be paid in a lump sum five years from receipt of the first payment subsidy, equal to the payment subsidies plus interest accrued at the federal funds rate, reads the proposal, in part."

So much for Christmas. There's been surprisingly little talk about the impact of the bad news on Christmas sales. It smells of a concerted effort by the government-media-complex to cover up how bad it really is until after O-shit is sworn in. Soon, O-shit will have his massive civil army to keep us all in line.
Does anyone have an opinion on hand guns? I'm looking at the Beretta 92.
Apologies to Sebastian and txchick57.
Just to recap what happened yesterday and today: SPX went above 10/20 swing high with 60% lighter volume than it came down with at the low. Immediate price reversal. Need to see much higher volume as it hits 920. If this downdraft has legs, it should stop before 920 and take a few days to break into last Tuesday's 10% bar.
Who needs a massive civil army when you have republican NSA snoops monitoring your every move.

There are simply many areas (e.g. dermatology, ophthalmology, etc) were there is way too much MEW induced overcapacity. Several years of a MEW drought, and many of those doctors will be running back to general practice.
Wow, my claims of Obama being vague continue to hold true.
Here's his policy for Israel/Palestine.
"Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Obama and Biden will make progress on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a key diplomatic priority. They will make a sustained push – working with Israelis and Palestinians – to achieve the goal of two states, a Jewish state in Israel and a Palestinian state, living side by side in peace and security."

I'll know tommorrow AM if everything is great. It will be great telling them to close my account and send me cash.
As others had mentioned to me, this has taken way too long and has occurred at the most inoppurtune time. The rally this week had given me some hope that the situation wasn't as dire as expected, but the move today has once again given me some jitters.
I dunno, maybe it's me. I know there's lots of intelligent thinking people lurking out there.
And I enjoy the repartee with them, especially when the exchange results in evolution of opinions.
But lately, the CIA, morons, haters and less than distinguished intellects seems to have polluted this place.
Maybe it's time to go. Oh well...

Why in the hell is the Carnegie and Ford Foundations still operating? How many billion dollars does Stanford and Harvard need. There's wheelbarrow

2) Go to a shooting range and fire at least ten different handguns to get an idea of what fits well and is tolerable.
3) Choose the best one then go back in a couple of weeks and re-shoot it along with 4 or 5 of its nearest competitors in terms of size and caliber.
4) Don't choose a kooky caliber.
Stick to 357, 9mm 45 or 40.

One tool that I use for stock market timing confirmation is the CRB Stock Market Momentum indicator. It is useful in trying to detect sustained short and intermediate trends in the U.S. market.
It has been published continuously by CRB since 1991. You can download all the data and charts, along with an explanation.
Stock Market Momentum Indicator
There are two data sets, the 10-day calculation and the 25-day. Both are expressed in percentages, with 100% being the most bullish and 0% being the most bearish.
Today, for the first time ever, both data sets went below 4%.
Commodity Research Bureau Indexes - Daily Closing Values
The lowest previously close was in August of 2002 when both were below 6%.
I am interpreting this data as saying that we are 18-24 months away from a bottom in the U.S. stock market. However, it may be very choppy and volatile from here to the bottom. Short-term range trading may be most profitable.
I would welcome any range-trading ideas you have.
P.S. The same site has terrific downloadable data and charts on all CRB commodities indexes.

I talked to the CEO of a small electronics company today and he told me that in mid-October all orders froze. Nobody is buying anything until they see where their markets stabilize.
If you're so cowardly and fearful that you need a gun
--eudemon
I have guns precisely because I am NOT cowardly and fearful. I want my family to survive what's about to happen.
The truly cowardly and fearful are deep in denial. They won't procure firearm protection because first they'd have to admit how bad this mess is, and they don't have enough courage for that.
Good one misean.
The meth head that kicked my door down didn't even check to see that it wasn't locked.
He had killed one person less than an hour before and I found out while sitting at his murder trial that he had shot up meth from a siringe in front of a child before he went on his rampage.
Did I mention that I think all drugs should be legal?
Please God take these end of world goldbugs and nutjobs from here. Good grief.
I don't have a gun because I'm afraid my spouse would use it on me.

Right! But.... What exactly are they going to do when they come home to 11% unemployment ?
I'd rather be shot in my sleep than have my penis cut off. The Sigs are also quite nice, JoGa.
First, thanks for the handgun advice. They're completely OT but I'm a firearm newbie.
Second, the obvious support levels during this decline will be at the Fibonacci numbers 0.382 (945.53), 0.50 (926.39 - interesting big volume swing right under there 922), and 0.618 (907.24). To me, it's about how much volume this move can generate. I actually suspect this downdraft will be bought, the market moves sideways up until the Dec. cycle turn around the 14th-15th, and the next 500-600 SPX plunge begins.
Remember - get your ammo now! To hearken back to a string of comments a couple of days ago or so - the NWO is purported to be AMMO control (the new gun control).
I would welcome any range-trading ideas you have.
rich, I really wish I could give something back for your great posts, but... no ideas on this. Sorry.

I love comments like these. Could you please inform us which posters are end of world goldbugs, and which are the nutjobs? I have a hard time keeping them straight.

CA, the state that tripped over their dicks for Obama, are likely to get a swift kick in the teeth from him. He will cut defense spending hard and So. CA is defense contractor central.
That was the "cause" of the last So CA RE collapse. Fitting.

It's a simple-minded and transparent approach to a disagreement to combine a person's viewpoint with several outrageous assumed extensions of it in order to discredit the actual belief that was stated.
So far, because I offered advice on a question asked I (and others) have been called a BTAF (whatever the hell that is), a homophobe, an end of the worlder, etc...

"Hey guest, Obviously the police were involved and the case hit the papers. Why don't you post a link to the newspaper article so we can discuss?"
It was actually the san diego sheriff's department and it did not make the papers. Here's the sheriffs' report number if your that interested: 08031055
It was the the guy's second strike (previous assault conviction) didn't even go to trial. The guy plead out.

Oh heck, CSC, the goobermint can just give everyone a jet pack, then I can commute easily to work on the empty roads.
New Thread.
Nostrovia,
CashOnlyHousing,
Let me illustrate how unusual this market action has been.
Post up an article of the alleged assault. Better yet, put up the case number. It sounds like an interesting saga.

The world will not come to an end. Most of us will get used to it. I did not vote for the President-elect myself, because of some differences concerning social policy. But I do not think he's a raging Marxist, a socialist, a racial revanchist, or incompetent. I and many of the people I know, who also did not vote for him, are praying for him. We wish him well.
Take the long view.

When I talk to one Obama supporter I get a dreamy eyed pontification on something they just KNOW he's gonna do about their pet issue.
When I talk to another Obama supporter I get the same behavior.
Trouble is, if I got these two Obama supporters together in one room, they'd probably be talking right past each other and over each others' heads.
Pavel:
Amen.
"Why should it be any different when it comes to protection of the home?"
Whatever happened to being a man or are men who need guns actually not manly but limpwristed?
Over and out . . .
The country, or at least that part of it in this venue, seems a bit off-balance, perhaps because of the election results?
Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). That's my theory.
In the beginning it was okay being right and seeing what was coming down the pike. Now we're in it. It's a whole new stage.
Oh, I see my old friends taxmeupthebooty and C&C. Hi, guys.
TMUTB, planning to leave town now or will we see more government sponsored duck ponds?
Hi txchick.
"Pavel:
Amen."
Amen.
We live in DC. We see administrations come and we see them go. The government goes on. The sun comes up in the morning. In our racially mixed middle class neighborhood most of us grow azaleas and tomatoes, not grudges.
This is the northernmost part of the south, or the southernmost part of the north, whichever way you like it. It's a good place to live.
sf jack writes:

Actually, being limpwristed can impair the function of semi-automatics.
For many good stories of proper gun use, see: Civilian Gun Self Defense Blog.
Real Men are prepared. I went 52 years of my life without wanting or needing a gun, until I started reading here and other places about just how screwed up the PTB have got things. I live in a good neighborhood, but it takes very few days of disruption for the lesser elements to start wandering.
And dont forget a laptop with CR as the homepage, this is important. He will be your eyes and ears. (he will be broadcasting from the utah mountains with a microwave loop antenna on the underground internet. You may only receive his signal at certain times of day though, so check back if its down.
He'll need something more old-school if he's going to be on-and-off like that. I'll dust off the UUCP source and post instructions to the board.
I just hope the rest of the world still is comfortable with HDP UUCP instead of the bastardized Taylor version you find floating 'round the 'net these days.
Stink'n Linux newbies have ruined the 'net. They'll learn what it really means to admin when were back to running the 'net over wireless microwave that's co-opted by the military every 20 minutes!
to sf jack:
Some people make through their whole lives without being tested.
It is not until you are face to face with another man with no one else to back you up that you are truely tested.
I know I'm a man. How about you?
If you were a man you would need a sidearm to bail you out.
Imagine that. A "man" so afraid of the world he needs a firearm and then mouths off from behind a keyboard. lmao.
You're no man.
I never said I had a side arm, I said I was considering getting one after the incident.
If I had been afraid, I would have hid like all my other neighbors and the kid would probably have gotten a knife in the neck.
guest - I, for one, do not doubt your courage. I'm sure no one else in your neighborhood does either. Don't let anyone bait you on this subject. There will always be scoffers, especially when they hide behind anonymity. You don't have to answer to anyone. And don't waste your time expecting an answer. Peace, brother.

I have lurked hear for years.
Lately, I have seriously been considering getting a gun and someone mentioned it here and it struck a chord with me. (I am not smart enough to comment on the normal topics, I just absorb)
guest - me, too. Some pretty smart folks here. Best just to listen, but sometimes I can't resist chiming in. Forget about the gun. Just keep the re-bar handy.
"When I talk to one Obama supporter I get a dreamy eyed pontification on something they just KNOW he's gonna do about their pet issue..."
Obama needs to lower expectations and FAST. Blaming Bush will only work so long. In 12 months most Americans will hear "George Bush," think the name sounds familiar and wonder if he was an "American Idol" runnerup.
O-shit! better deal with the United State of Goldman Sachs fast. They should just swear him in now, so that we can have our bread and fish.
I mentioned the gun. I'm looking at the Ruger SR9. They make people jump through a lot of hoops in NY for a hand gun. It's almost too much trouble, but not a violation of the 2nd amendment.
"I am proud to be a Mexican / American tonight. Latino's mark this day, over the next 2-4 years you will see a influx of great Hispanic leaders into our UNITED States of AMERICA.

A wonderful post that I recently found...yes, it may be time for change alright.
I just heard on the news that NY is running out of money for unemployment benefits. Over 500,000 people are unemployed across the state, and many are from NYC. S'pose they should have saved those massive Christmas bonuses from years past...boo hoo. NY and CA are going down the crapper. Maybe the Republicans will finally push to kick out the illegals, since they got O-shit! elected. What a disaster. Watch out for the new civilian military as big and expensive as the whole US military. Black people: you can stop paying for gasoline and mortgage payments. Hallelujah. The Messiah has returned. Tough times are here again.
This has to be one of the strangest blog streams I have read in a while... I'm chalking it up to Post-Election Stress Syndrome.
