Sadly, I have been dragged into the Fed Funds drop next month camp. The Fed needs to give everyone, borrowers, lenders more time to swap out of adjustable products as resets peak. As I said last night on a comment thread - the woman is having a major impact... I was at a large HS cross country meet last night (many HS's from prosperous ex-urban & suburban parts of Twin Cities that vote something like 70% GOP)... saw more than a few Sarah look-a-likes... hair up, lotsa make-up, glasses... Coincidence? Maybe but you NEVER used to see this crowd in glasses unless they were designer shades.
Anyway its good for the economy so stop complaining... retail might be down but Mary Kay, Pearle Vision & Aveda should do fine... wonder how much they contribute to GDP.
Many women are angry that candidates know better than to make racist comments about Obama. But he has made sexist comments about Hillary and now many people are making sexist comments about Palin. These comments have been reported and discussed by the MSM without much criticism. As a result these comments are doing more to get McCain and Palin elected, than either is doing themselves.
I'm still a Democrat and not happy about how the race is being waged.

If there is such a thing as the anti-Christ, Palin is the best candidate I've seen so far. We have collectively lost our minds. And then Biden says, "well maybe Hillary would've been a better choice", and then the obscene spin on the "Lipstick on a pig" comment, and Obama's reticence to hammer down on these attacks and the unbelievable surge in the polls favoring the Republicans cause me to think its already lost. There are, at this point, only two outcomes in my mind: (1) Obama wins by the thinnest of margins or (2) Obama is humiliatingly defeated in a landslide (most likely outcome). We won't know until the very last minute because I believe the current administration will engineer an "incident" that incites fear at the eleventh hour. We all know how effective that has been in the past. The best way to control the masses is keep them in fear and keep them in debt. HOOCUDANODE!!!

Yep. The Fed is in firebreak mode. Unless something actually catches fire they have to let it smolder and deal with it later. Right now banks are failing. Everything is focused on that and inflation and the dollar are for afterwards. This is based just on tax policy without accounting for other changes in policy. If Obama's health plan costs significantly more, that debt could rise. With McCain's possible increases or sustained expenditures in military spending his debt numbers could rise as well.
