If QE3 boosts the S&P, odds are extraordinarily high that it'd make money for taxpayers.

Yes, but if we assume that the S&P is currently at about 1350, then a few trillion from QE3 will keep us at this level for another year or so, if the PPT uses taxpayer cash efficiently.
